Artistic Vision
“Where the West imagined the East, we respond with a vision of our own.”
A century ago, Puccini’s Western imagination conjured a mysterious Eastern kingdom. Today, we revisit that imagined world through Eastern eyes.
Combining his distinctive Eastern aesthetic with contemporary stage technology, director Jackie Chan presents a new Turandot that honours the spirit of the original while embracing the energy of the East today.
It is a cultural response a century in the making, and a profound artistic dialogue between China and Italy.
