Jackie Chan Film and Television Academy Supports the Creation of Turandot

Throughout the creative development and rehearsals of Jackie Chan’s Turandot, the Jackie Chan Film and Television Academy has provided substantial support, contributing to movement design, performance training, stage coordination and the participation of young talent.

As a film and performing arts education platform combining professional training, practical experience and an international outlook, the Academy has long worked to develop versatile performers and movement artists. For Turandot, it has drawn on its strengths in physical performance, training, teamwork and stage practice to support the production’s Eastern character, movement aesthetic and theatrical expression.

This new interpretation of a globally influential opera preserves the musical and dramatic spirit of the original while exploring connections between Eastern aesthetics, physical language and contemporary stage storytelling. The Academy’s involvement has brought greater depth and vitality to choreography, large ensemble scenes and the physical expression of character, contributing to a distinctive contemporary interpretation of the classic.

The Academy’s teams have approached the collaboration with professionalism, from rehearsal support and movement execution to on-site assistance and overall coordination. Their contribution reflects both practical expertise and a shared commitment to the quality of the production. This close collaboration has helped the project progress steadily alongside the Chinese and Italian creative teams.

The Academy’s support provides important talent and professional resources, while demonstrating the contribution young Chinese artists can make to international stage productions. As the project develops, continued collaboration between the Academy and the creative team will help bring fresh artistic energy to this century-old masterpiece.
